Schull Community School, Co. Cork

Schull Community Students learned about animation for their Creative Engagement Project. They created 1 to 2 min stop-go animations based on their own theme. Using materials like paper, paint Lego, everyday objects and plasticine. The Project took place in January over a period of one week. TY Students got the opportunity to work alongside past pupil Etáin Nash who is a Film Director. It created a relatable and inspiring experience, as students could see someone from their own school succeed in a creative career. Students also benefited from hands-on learning, gaining real insight into filmmaking, animation techniques, and creative problem-solving. It encouraged teamwork and confidence while developing both artistic and technical skills. Overall it was a very positive experience.
