Ag Teacht Abhaile was a collaborative Creative Engagement Project that brought together puppetry, drama, music, storytelling, and visual art through the Irish language. Working with artist Des Dillon, students from 1st to 4th Year explored puppetry skills through workshops and performances, while 4th Year students and members of the school trad group took part in an intensive series of full-day workshops to develop an original performance.
Students led the creative process, designing puppets, creating sets and backdrops, composing music, and shaping the final production alongside the Art Department, Music Department, Irish Department, and Tomás, the Culture and Language Coordinator. The project encouraged creativity, teamwork, confidence, and cultural expression while promoting the use of Irish in an authentic and engaging context. Ag Teacht Abhaile culminated in a vibrant final performance that celebrated student voice, collaboration, and the power of the arts within the school community.
