Celebrating Art, Culture and Community – Magh Éne Mural Project
The Magh Éne Mural Creative Engagement Project was a collaborative, student-led initiative involving Transition Year and Fifth Year students in the design and creation of a large-scale mural reflecting the school’s identity, culture, and community. Guided by a professional mural artist, students engaged in a structured creative process including research, brainstorming, design development, and final spray painting. Working in teams with assigned roles, they developed artistic, organisational, and communication skills while contributing to a shared vision. The project promoted student voice, wellbeing, and a strong sense of ownership, as students saw their ideas realised in a permanent artwork within the school. Cross-curricular links with Art, SPHE, English, and History enriched the learning experience. The completed mural stands as a lasting symbol of creativity, collaboration, and community pride within Magh Éne College.
