Kinsale Community School, Co. Cork 2020

Kinsale Community School had great work done on their Creative Engagement Project 2020 before the schools closure. The project was based on designing and building a full size public seating installation for students in the school setting. The shape and design was based on the size profile shape of a wave. This was inspired from a project they worked on last year and from their geographical setting as a coastal town. They had paired with architect Andrew Lane who is a lecturer at U.C.C. The students were broken up into different teams within the classroom working on Design, Research, Construction Methods and Aesthetics. They had created several scaled models of possible design solutions for their chair. Their architect, Andrew then would liaise with them in relation to offering advice and guidance in terms of our design.
