Battle of the Bands. Midleton CBS’s project involved the development and production of a whole-school musical that promoted creativity, wellbeing and student engagement through the performing arts. Students from various year groups participated in all aspects of the production, including acting, singing, dancing, choreography, script writing, stagecraft, set design, building sets, sourcing costumes, animation, fundraising and promotion. Workshops were delivered by external choreographer Billiejean Sargent, who supported students in developing confidence, resilience and self-esteem throughout the process.
The project fostered teamwork, leadership, creativity, communication and organisational skills while encouraging students to step outside of their comfort zones. Students also engaged with the wider community through fundraising and promotional initiatives. The final performance in January was a huge success and showcased the creativity, dedication and talent of all students involved
