Wooly Tales was developed with Wise Wool to explore sustainability, creativity, and local artistic collaboration. Second-year students, working across Art and Home Economics, learned needle-felting through hands-on workshops using wool as a traditional, renewable material. Using landscape as their theme, they experimented with 2D and 3D felting, created individual pieces, and contributed to a large collaborative artwork inspired by Kerry. The final piece featured mountains, fields, a lake, sheep, and a puck goat, with rich texture created from wool, felted pieces, discarded threads, and curly fleece. The project encouraged creativity, practical textile skills, and an appreciation of how waste materials can be transformed into art.
