Colaiste Mhuire Batik project on Buttevant’s Forestry Surroundings<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaborative Creative Engagement batik project involved 15 fifth-year students creating two large textile panels inspired by the local forestry surroundings. Through observational research, sketching, and experimentation, students explored the natural textures, colours, and forms found within the woodland environment. Using traditional batik techniques, including wax resist and fabric dyeing, students worked together through a layered creative process to produce large-scale tree landscape artworks. The project developed students\u2019 artistic, technical, and collaborative skills while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation of the local environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
