Presentation Secondary School, Mitchelstown chose to work on a Mural for their Creative Engagement Project 2019/2020. A group of 45 transition years and 5 LCA1 students worked on the project. The students learned how to use spray paint and how to create a balanced composition for the space. They really felt listened to during the design process which helped them to gain a sense of ownership over the realised piece. The project created unity within the group and a strong sense of accomplishment in the high standard of the overall project. Curricular benefits would include a heightened sense of awareness of the historical figure Nano Nagle and her importance to the school.
