The Transition Year students of Glenamaddy Community School worked with textiles artist Lynn Naughton from Roscommon. Lynn visited the students in the art room for several workshops, teaching the students her specialised skills and then working alongside the students to produce their finished wall hanging.
The theme of their wall hanging is Remembrance, and the students are working on a written piece explaining the symbolism and ideas behind the art work. This written piece will be unveiled along with the art work at a ceremony in the school this March to coincide with the centenary of the 1916 Rising.
